1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for and participating in the Suncoast East Coast Radio Big Walk ("the Event"), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before registering.
2. Registration & Entry
All participants must register and pay the applicable entry fee prior to the event. Registration is non-transferable. No refunds will be issued for cancellations or no-shows. The organizers reserve the right to limit entries and close registration at any time.
3. Assumption of Risk
Participation in the Event is entirely at the participant's own risk. By entering, participants acknowledge that walking and related activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, heat-related illness, and cardiac events. Participants warrant that they are physically fit and have no medical condition that would make participation inadvisable.
4. Waiver of Liability
Participants agree to waive and release the Event organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and associated entities from any and all claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from participation in the Event. This includes claims for personal injury, property damage, or loss of life.
5. Event Rules
Participants must comply with the following rules:
Follow the designated route at all times
No bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, or pets on the route
Follow instructions from marshals and event officials
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult
6. Photography & Media
By participating in the Event, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded. The organizers and sponsors may use such images and recordings for promotional, advertising, and editorial purposes without further notice or compensation.
7. Event Cancellation
The organizers reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the Event due to circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to severe weather, security concerns, or public health emergencies. In such cases, the organizers will endeavor to provide alternative arrangements but are not obligated to issue refunds.
8. Privacy Policy
Personal information collected during registration will be used for event administration, communication, and sponsor marketing purposes. By registering, you consent to the collection, processing, and storage of your personal data in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from or related to the Event shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban.
